INDUSTRIAL ELECTRIC HEATING SYSTEMS
Oilfield Skid-Mounted Crude Oil Heating System
Custom skid-mounted electric crude oil heating systems for oilfield wellhead, gathering and transfer applications.
The Oilfield Skid-Mounted Crude Oil Heating System integrates an electric crude oil heater with pumps, valves, instruments, piping, control cabinet and skid frame to support crude-oil heating and viscosity reduction at oilfield sites.
The system can be engineered from crude-oil properties, flow, inlet and target temperatures, pressure, outdoor climate, hazardous-area requirements, power supply, automation interface and site installation conditions.
Product Overview
The Oilfield Skid-Mounted Crude Oil Heating System is a modular electric heating package designed for crude oil, produced liquids, oil-water mixtures and other compatible oilfield process fluids. It can integrate the electric heater, circulation or transfer pump, strainer, valves, instruments, control cabinet, piping, insulation and skid frame as one factory-assembled unit.
The system is selected according to crude-oil composition, viscosity curve, wax or sediment, water content, flow rate, inlet temperature, required outlet temperature, operating pressure, hazardous-area classification, outdoor environment and maintenance requirements.
Unlike a standalone crude-oil heater, the skid-mounted system integrates the heater with pumps, valves, instruments, piping and control functions as one coordinated package. It is specifically engineered for crude-oil and compatible oilfield process-fluid heating where factory pre-assembly, field installation and system interlocks are required.

Structure, Materials, Control and Safety
Structure of the Skid-Mounted System
The system is arranged on a structural skid with defined inlet, outlet, drain, vent, electrical and control interfaces. The electric heater, pump and piping are positioned for operation, inspection and element removal.
Components can include isolation and control valves, filter or strainer, pressure and temperature instruments, flow switch or transmitter, expansion or bypass line, insulation, cable tray and local control cabinet.
The skid layout is coordinated with lifting, transport, foundation, field piping and maintenance access. Component brands and supply boundaries can be adjusted according to the project specification.
Materials and Customization
Materials are selected from crude-oil composition, water and solids content, sulfur, viscosity, temperature, pressure and outdoor environment. Carbon steel and stainless steel options can be used where suitable.
Heating element sheath and watt density are selected to reduce local overheating, oil degradation and deposition. Piping class, flange standard, valves, gaskets and instruments are matched to the process specification.
The skid frame, coating, insulation and external cladding can be customized for outdoor oilfield use, transport and site corrosion conditions.
Control System
The system can include a local PLC/HMI cabinet with PID temperature control, SCR or staged power regulation, motor control and remote communication to the field DCS or SCADA system.
Control signals can include inlet/outlet temperature, element sheath temperature, flow, pump status, pressure, valve status and cabinet alarms.
The PLC or control cabinet can coordinate pump start, valve permissive, minimum-flow confirmation, staged heater energization, outlet-temperature control, pressure alarm, over-temperature shutdown and controlled cooldown. Local/remote operation, HMI, alarm history and DCS communication can be included according to the field control philosophy.
Safety Protection
Typical protection can include independent over-temperature cutoff, pump-running and minimum-flow interlocks, valve permissive, pressure monitoring, element-sheath temperature monitoring, ground-fault protection, protective grounding and emergency stop.
The heater must not be energized until the required crude-oil circulation is established. Cold-start sequencing should consider oil viscosity, pump capability, valve position and the risk of stagnant oil around the heating elements.
For hazardous-area oilfield applications, explosion-proof terminal boxes and matched electrical configurations are available. Relevant explosion-proof products have obtained Chinese explosion-proof certification Ex db IIC T1–T6 Gb. Outdoor protection and the final electrical arrangement are confirmed according to the site classification and field environment.
