Product Overview
The Marine Electric Fresh Water Heater is intended for shipboard or offshore fresh-water heating, circulation and auxiliary process service. Depending on the project, it can be designed as an inline heater, circulation heater or packaged unit with control cabinet, pump, valves and instruments.

Structure, Materials, Control and Safety
Structure of the Heater
The heater can use a cylindrical inline shell, a compact pressure vessel or a flanged immersion bundle depending on the vessel system. Connections, supports and element-removal direction are arranged for the available machinery-space layout.
The structure can include insulation, external cladding, terminal enclosure, operating temperature sensor, independent safety cutoff, drain, vent, pressure connection and mounting brackets.
For marine installation, vibration, movement, corrosion environment, access and cable routing are considered together with the thermal duty.
Materials and Customization
Shell, tank and heating-element materials are selected from water quality, chloride level, pressure, temperature and owner specification. SS304, SS316L and selected alloys can be used where suitable.
Gaskets, fittings, sensors and weld materials are matched to the fresh-water service and operating temperature. External coating or stainless cladding can be supplied according to installation environment.
The unit can be customized in connection standard, flange, element length, mounting orientation, insulation, terminal-box direction and maintenance clearance.
Control System
Control options include thermostat control, PID, staged contactor control, SCR, PLC or interface with the vessel automation system. Local temperature indication and alarm contacts can be provided.
Temperature can be controlled from the heater outlet or tank. Independent high-temperature cutoff is recommended as a separate protective function.
Optional interlocks include low level, pump or flow status, pressure alarm, remote start/stop and operating-status feedback according to the vessel control philosophy.
Safety Protection
Typical protection includes independent high-temperature cutoff, low-level or dry-heating protection for immersion arrangements, pressure monitoring, ground-fault protection and protective grounding.
The elements must remain wetted during operation. The installation should provide suitable venting, drainage and maintenance access according to the vessel piping layout.
Pressure relief, expansion management, venting and drainage should be coordinated with the complete shipboard water system. Where class-society approval or project-specific marine inspection is required, the applicable rules, drawings, material documents, tests and witness requirements must be confirmed before quotation and production.
